This is a scrap quilt in the truest sense. The block reads as one thing from across the room and dissolves into dozens of individual fabric decisions up close, which is exactly why people keep making it. It handles a wildly mismatched stash better than almost anything else out there, and it looks deliberate no matter what you throw at it.
Written for hand piecing, but with the acrylic templates it can be rotary cut and machine pieced instead. Sashing and setting triangles are rotary cut either way. That flexibility is worth noting: this is a legitimate travel project if you hand piece, and a legitimate weekend-at-the-machine project if you do not.
Skill level beginner to intermediate. Includes full instructions and fabric requirements. Finished quilt measures 71" square.
