Before I traded spreadsheets for sewing machines, I earned my PhD in Computational Science, Engineering, and Mathematics — so yes, I really love the math side of quilting. There’s nothing more satisfying than creating patterns that come together beautifully (and, ok, I still love spreadsheets too!).

I’m a proud member of the DC Modern Quilt Guild, and when I’m not sketching new ideas or piecing quilts, you might find me teaching, giving lectures, or vending at quilt shows. I’ve also had the joy of seeing my work featured in quilting magazines — which still feels a little surreal every time!

Each year, I host a kit-buster challenge that helps quilters use up those long-neglected fabric kits in a fun, community-driven way. This year’s event is the Stitch It! Quilt-Along — a nostalgic nod to those 90s reading programs we loved as kids, complete with weekly tasks, prizes, and plenty of cheerleading along the way.

I’m originally from Texas but now call Maryland home, where I live with my kids, a growing fabric stash, and way too many scraps I refuse to throw away.
