The knit dress that ends the "what do I wear" problem. A fitted bodice, a gathered skirt with real swing, and pockets, all in a shape that reads as pulled together but wears like a t-shirt.

The pattern includes knee length and maxi length options, plus elbow and long sleeve variations, so one envelope covers a summer version and a fall version. Sizes XS through XXL.

Written for beginners, with clear and simple instructions that stay out of your way. If this is your first knit garment, this is a forgiving place to start: the gathered waist absorbs a lot of fitting sins, and there are no closures, zippers, or buttonholes anywhere in it.

Sewists also love it as a base pattern. The silhouette is simple enough that adding a flutter sleeve, a dipped back neckline, or a slimmer skirt is an easy modification once you have made it once.

Fabric: Knit fabric with good stretch and recovery. A mid-weight cotton or rayon jersey is the sweet spot.
