A woven, not a print, and the difference is the whole point.

Kaleidoscope is a collection of shot cottons: two different colors of yarn woven together so the resulting cloth shifts depending on how the light hits it. What you get is a solid with genuine depth, one that changes across a quilt top in a way a printed solid never does. Alison Glass took real care in pairing the yarn colors, so every fabric in the line sits inside her palette rather than reading as a generic woven.

The hand is the other reason people keep coming back to this line. Not too thin, not too thick, with enough structure to piece cleanly and enough drape to make a garment. That combination is rare, and it means a half yard here can go toward a quilt block or a shirt.

Hope is one of forty colors in the range, which spans lights, brights, and darks. Because these are wovens, they mix beautifully with printed cottons without competing, and they mix with each other into gradients that no printed solid can match.

Note that shot cottons have a right and wrong side that read slightly differently, and a slightly looser weave than quilting cotton. Starch helps if you are piecing small.
