An Irish chain reworked into something cleaner and more graphic. Classic but modern, and it works for any age and in any fabric.
This is the pattern to reach for when you want a quilt that reads as considered without asking for weeks of your life. The chain structure does the visual work, which means the fabric choices can be simple and the result still looks designed. Two fabrics and a background gets you something striking. A pile of scraps gets you something completely different and equally good.
The center squares are also a natural place for fussy cutting, which turns the whole thing into an i-spy quilt if you are willing to do a little extra work up front. Worth knowing if you have a novelty print you have been saving for the right project.
Includes instructions for crib, throw, twin, and queen. Four sizes in one pattern makes this a genuine repeat maker: the crib version for baby gifts, the queen when someone gets married.
